DISC Assessment Program
Communication styles vary widely among individuals, influencing not only our thought processes but also how we respond and collaborate on projects. As a business owner, executive, or team manager, it’s essential to understand the preferences and behavior styles of your current and future employees. The DISC Assessment Program is designed to do just that.
What is DISC?
DISC is a focused and effective assessment tool that captures the essence of individuals' personalities, key behavioral traits, and communication preferences in a professional setting. Based on the DISC theory (developed by Dr. William Moulton Marston), the program categorizes behavior into four main types:
Influence (I)
Individuals scoring high in Influence are often outgoing, sociable, and lively. They tend to shape their environment and others through persuasion and are sometimes seen as impulsive.
Dominance (D)
Those who score high in Dominance tend to be highly direct and decisive when communicating. They approach problem-solving with confidence and with a laser focus on accomplishing results.
Conscientiousness (C)
Individuals scoring high in Conscientiousness are often analytical, detail-oriented, and disciplined. They are highly focused on accuracy and efficiency and are systematic in their approach to work.
Steadiness (S)
Those who score high in Steadiness are generally calm, cooperative, and dependable. They are typically empathetic to and supportive of their peers and work well in a team environment.
WHY EMPLOYERS, TEAMS, & INDIVIDUALS NEED DISC
DISC BENEFITS FOR EMPLOYERS
DISC helps employers make informed hiring decisions by identifying candidates whose traits best match the job requirements. This helps ensure individuals are placed in roles where they can excel, improving overall workplace productivity and satisfaction. These assessments can also significantly enhance sales strategies by providing insights into the communication preferences and behavioral styles of both sales personnel and clients.
DISC BENEFITS FOR TEAMS & INDIVIDUALS
A DISC Analysis can help provide a clearer picture of an individual’s communication style, work style, and how they form relationships with their peers. It gives personal insight into what motivates them in any project, whether working independently or within a team. It also provides access to tools to help increase performance and personal achievement. This insight can also strengthen team unity by helping members appreciate and leverage their diverse communication styles for better collaboration and productivity.
DISC can help individuals and teams to…
Discover stress triggers/reasons for specific responses to communication conflicts
Recognize their unique strengths and weaknesses so they can help each other
Utilize the different communication styles to enjoy better communication/healthier relationships
Understand their preferred communication styles and what drives them in team communication
Learn how their peers operate so they can better relate with one other
Learn how they respond to the various DISC profiles among their peers
This strategic approach to human resource management is essential for building stronger, more effective teams and a supportive work environment where individuals can thrive together.
THE DISC ASSESSMENT PROGRAM: WHAT TO EXPECT
For those considering participating in the DISC Assessment Program, here’s how it works:
Questionnaire
The DISC Assessment Questionnaire is administered before your scheduled workshop, providing ample time for completion. Participants will answer a series of questions as honestly as possible; it takes about fifteen minutes to complete.
Analysis Report
The team members and leader are provided with a detailed report of the results before the workshop.
DISC Assessment Workshop
The workshop includes a full day of education, analysis, and brainstorming, providing a safe and productive space to identify opportunities and strategies for improving team communication and collaboration.
Continued Growth Opportunities
After the initial DISC Assessment Workshop, many teams continue their learning with an additional half-day workshop. This often allows for further exploration of personality and behavior types and brainstorming strategies to improve the work environment.
Most teams looking for continued education request to focus on one of the following:
Clarity regarding what is wanted or needed for a specific project, business, and/or personal life.
A deeper dive into what it takes to truly listen and its impact on business and personal relationships.
Ways to practice mindfulness and reduce stress both individually and as a team.
